And Again... Happy Birthday!

This is a really bad sign if I only post on here once a year! Yikes. So, another year has come and gone for my birthday puppy. He's 5. So..., 35 in dog years? And feeling his age, too. He would much prefer the couch to the ground outside and night these days. But that's ok. We love him just as much even if he moves a little slower. Happy Birthday big boy.

Happy Birthday!

I do love my dog, but not quite enough to remember his birthday :-). Although I usually manage to remember it on MY birthday. So I celebrated my birthday Sunday with a party at my parents, and my dear friend Anneke snapped a family picture for us while we were there. Diesel wasn't too interested in standing for pictures, as he was celebrating as well by hanging out with his buddies, Copper and Penny.

Happy 4th Birthday Diesel!

Welcome to a (stud) dog's life!

Four years ago on September 28th I turned the big "21"! It was the first birthday I celebrated married to Tyler and I wasn't shy about asking for exactly what I wanted...a puppy! But I never really expected to receive one since we lived in a 5th wheel RV and we both worked. Not the best living situation for a dog bound to get big and energetic. But when I came home from work on my birthday Tyler was waiting on the deck for me with a card and flowers. The card entitled me to a puppy of my choice. I actually cried! The very next day I called my lifelong Golden Retriever raising friends knowing they had been expecting a litter. And sure enough, on September 23rd my puppy had already made it's entrance.
Me and my boy

After waiting a couple of weeks for their eyes to open my sister-in-law and I made the trip up to their place and picked out a medium blond female. The big, chunky, white-blond boy that I really wanted had already been spoken for. But not long after I got a phone call telling me that he had come available. Yeah! Tyler and I visited once more before we got to take him home and Tyler was smitten :-).

In the time between picking Diesel out and bringing him home we ended up moving out to Tyler's grandparent's farm to help out around the place. So when the day came to go pick him up, we invited his grandparents along for the ride. On the way home we stopped and had lunch together in Bonners. Poor lonely Diesel had to wait in the car. I nearly cried then too!

These days Diesel is a 90+ lb. fun loving dog. He loves babies especially and is always extra gentle with them.
Lovin on the babe

Just this last Saturday we were stopped three times at Costco by people looking and wanting to pet. He's a head-turner if nothing else! So I figured it's about time to capitalize on it and start promoting him as a stud.

On this blog in the future you'll find anecdotes about Diesel and his life as well as information and pictures of his babies. Here's to hoping there's lots!!!
